 When applied to oxidized metal, a chemical reaction occurs whereby ferric oxide is converted into a very stable, blue-black organic compound that protects the metal from further oxidation, while simultaneously serving as a firm base for paint or other finishes.

PROPERTIES

1. Thorough sanding is not necessary, although to obtain the best results, paint remains, crusts, debris, and grease must be removed so that the product can react directly with the rust.

2. Treated surfaces are prepared to receive a paint or enamel finish. You can forgo painting by applying a 2nd coat of the product. 

3. Does not freeze.

4. Contains no flammable or volatile solvents.

5. Approximate drying time: 2 hours. Do not apply paint or a 2nd coat before this time has elapsed.

6. Cleaning of equipment is done simply with water, immediately after use.
